Q: If I can only afford to take one skin product which one is best – o3mega+ glow multi+ daily glow; or perfect skin?
A: Depends on the desired outcome. If it is to prevent acne and diminish acne blemishes, then perfect skin is the choice. If it is for the prevention and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles then o3mega+ glow would be the choice. multi+ daily glow is a secondary, supportive product to both perfect skin and o3mega+ glow.
Q: Why is there a caution in regards to perfect skin and a history of non-melanoma skin cancer or on tetracyclines?
A: These are cautions (not contraindications) required by the NHPD for ingredients in perfect skin (at the dosages, usage and forms found in perfect skin). Here are the ingredients each caution is for: Zinc: Consult a health care practitioner prior use if you are taking Tetracyclines. Selenium: Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have a history of non-melanoma skin cancer.
Q: How quickly can I expect results when using healthy skin chocolate soft chews?
A: There are fast-acting and longer-term expectations with the chews...the research on 329mg of cocoa polyphenols has shown that they significantly improve blood flow to the skin over 2 to 6 hours...the long term (3 month) research shows improvement in demal thickness, decreased roughness and scaling and improved hydration vs. low cocoa placebo. The 5mg of lycopene provides an instant boost to internal SPF.
Q: What is the source of cod that is used to gather the hydrolyzed collagen in multi+ daily glow?
A: The hydrolyzed collagen is produced from the skin of deep water, ocean cod from Canada, which is thus sustainably sourced as per the rigorous protection in place for Canadian cod-fishing (not to mention local!).
Q: What fish do you use for your oils and where are they from?
A: We use sardines and anchovies because these two types of fish have the highest levels of EPA & DHA. They are both young fish, meaning their life cycle is 9-12 months so they are not absorbing mercury or high levels of containments for years in the ocean like a tuna or salmon would. The starting oil from these fish is relatively clean straight from the beginning, but of course it is still subjected to rigorous quality control. Off the coast of Peru both anchovies and sardines live in abundance and are protected by the Peruvian government to not be overfished. This is one of the major reasons why we purchase our oil from this area – it provides both quality and sustainability.
Q: What is the remainder of the 1000mg of fish oil in o3mega+ joy. subtracting the EPA and DHA (475mg)?
A: Fish oil in general contains more than 50 fatty acids attached to the glycerol backbone in a form of esters called triglycerides. The oil used in o3mega+ joy is the highly researched ethyl ester form of concentrated fish oil, so in addition to EPA and DHA ethyl esters (the two main components) the oil contains primarily oleic acid (6 -11%), stearic acid (3-4%), 18:1 omega-7 (3-4%), arachidonic acid (3 -3.5%), 20:4 omega-3 (2-2.5%) and other fatty acids in lower quantities. This would be similar to other high quality fish oils on the market.
Q: How many times is our fish oil purified?
A: Our o3mega fish oil goes through over 200 quality and purity checks during processing and manufacturing. In terms of cleanliness it exceeds the GOED (Global Organization for EPA & DHA), EC (European Commission), and NFSA (Norwegian Food Safety Authority) limits which are the strictest in the world.
Q: Are the ingredients within the multi+ line from “Natural Sources” or are they “Chemically Formulated”?
A: Genuine Health uses natural, food-based ingredients whenever possible; however the area of natural vs. synthetic vitamins is one ripe with unscientific claims and marketing myths. With few exceptions, broad claims against synthetic vitamins are untrue. Almost all B vitamins in natural health products are synthetic, and they have been for years. There are multiple studies on B vitamins in various aspects of health, most notably the prevention of neural tube defects in fetal development, improvement in depressive symptoms, slowing the progression of cognitive decline, improving migraine headaches, cardiovascular health etc. Synthetic B vitamins are structurally bioidentical to B vitamins found in nature. Almost all vitamin D3 used in natural health products is derived from natural source, although the process used in large scale manufacture of vitamin D for supplements technically makes vitamin D synthetic. There are countless studies on the value of vitamin D3 taken in supplement form in human studies and oral form in animal studies. The research behind oral vitamin D3 supplements is so robust, particularly in the area of cancer protection, that the guidelines for intake are currently being increased. There are very few natural sources of vitamin D3, even a large percentage of the cod liver oil production (due to deodorization techniques) removes the natural D3 and then adds back synthetic D3.
Q: How should fast back+ care† be taken?
A: There is no recommended time of day to take the products, but it should be taken AWAY from food.
Q: What are the individual amounts of the components of the natural eggshell membrane (glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, hyaluronic acid, fucose, dermatan sulfate, type I collagen) used in fast joint+ care†?
A: The NEM in fast joint+ care† contains a minimum of 10% collagen (50mg/capsule) and a variety of glycosaminoglycans (chondroitin, glucosamine, hyaluronic acid, dermatan, keratan, etc.), including a minimum of 0.5% hyaluronic acid (2.5mg/capsule) and a minimum of 0.2% (1mg/capsule) chondroitin sulphate. However, it is not about the quantities of these actives in fast joint+ care†, but rather about the unique mix of naturally occurring ‘joint food’ that is research proven to work – quickly!! There shouldn’t be any need to take any other supplements with fast joint+ care†, but if more of one of these ingredients is taken, the levels shouldn’t be of concern as far as taking too much when used in combination with fast joint+ care†.

Q: How should I take lean+ extra strength?
A: Two capsules daily with food is recommended, as per the label. Timing is a personal choice, but as this product contains caffeine people may want to take this into account when determining what the best time for them is.
Q: Which of our products use bovine capsules/softgels and which use porcine?
A: All our softgels (o3megas line, abs+) utilize porcine gelatin.
Q: Is go4trim less effective if you do not wait 15-30 minutes from taking the 2 capsules or stick pack until consuming food?
A: Yes it would be less effective because the 15-30 minute time frame is required to maximize signals of satiety to the brain. Basically after consumption, the glucomannan expands in the stomach thus providing a sense of fullness, but this takes some time to occur and to be recognized by the brain. Hence the 15-30 minutes prior to meals being the optimum timing, but closer would still be effective, but maybe less so.
Q: Where in the U.S are the cows from for proteins+? Why do we use the cows in the U.S for proteins+ rather than from Canada?
A: The happy, healthy cows used to provide the high quality whey protein isolate in proteins+ reside in Clovis, New Mexico. They are grass and grain-fed and hormone free. This whey protein isolate contains the highest naturally occurring levels of alphalactalbumin commercially available. In order to have a fresh, high quality product, the cows must be in close proximity to the manufacturing plant, so in order to get this high alpha, whey; we must use US cows as this is where the plant is.
