- Product Q&A
We want to make sure you are getting a potent product right up until the expiry date. That’s why each capsule contains 125 billion at the time of manufacturing. This overage ensures we remain at label claim or better at expiry.
We recommend going with a higher CFU during states of high stress, digestive complaints, or during times when antibiotics are used, but beyond that, do what feels best for you! Some people feel great taking 15 billion, while others like to “go big” with the 50 billion.
The NNHPD monograph on probiotics requires labelling to include directions to take probiotics 2-3 hours before or after taking antibiotics, as you see on our packaging.
Although advanced gut health probiotic might be helpful for a variety of medical conditions, including irritable bowel syndrome, it was not designed specifically for this. However, probiotics can be very helpful for IBS and we expect the same would hold true for advanced gut health probiotic. If you have IBS we recommend that you consult with your health care practitioner to determine if this product is suitable for you.
There is some, not a lot, but some research showing that probiotics can actually help with SIBO. It could be that they reset the proper motility of the small and large intestines, making it difficult for the bacteria to set up their camps in the small intestines…or it could be that probiotics actually displace the less-desirable, gas-producing bacteria from the small intestine. If you have SIBO we recommend that you consult with your health care practitioner to determine if this product is suitable for you.
The on-pack recommendation is to take with food. With that said, scientifically-speaking, there’s no specific time of day that has been proven to have best benefits. When it comes down to when should you take it, we recommend picking a time of day that suits you best and trying your best to stick with it! Often, people are concerned about taking probiotics with food because of the implication of stomach acid affecting the bacteria and thus the efficacy, but we do have a delayed-release capsule and the strains of bacteria we use are actually acid-resistant themselves, so this is not a concern.
Recommended use: For a daily source of probiotics to support and balance your gut. Also to repair, restore and rebuild gut flora for overall gastrointestinal health during intensive gut distress.
Dosage: Adults, Adolescents and Children ≥ 6 years: Take 1 capsule, 1-3 times per day. If you are on antibiotics, take Advanced Gut Health at least 2-3 hours before or after.
