First thing’s first, let’s clear up some confusion around the term “raw.” “Raw” foods by definition are those that haven’t been heated above 118°F or 48°C. Proponents of the raw food diet say that because the food hasn’t been heated, it is richer in enzymes, vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals that can be destroyed through the cooking process.
While some companies on the market like to claim their superfood powders are “raw,” this may be a bit misleading. Raw foods, by nature, are very minimally processed, however, when creating dried, powdered superfoods, this is nearly impossible. The ingredients need to be milled, processed, and sanitized in a way that makes them both safe and effective for consumption, which requires the use of heat. While no heat is added to the finished product, it is a bit misleading to label the product as truly “raw.” Unfortunately at this time there are no government standards or definition around this term, which allows for a lot of grey area when it comes to using the term on a product’s label.
greens+ provides different benefits than a multivitamin. If you are looking for the benefits of greens+ and a multivitamin, try greens+ multi+. It is a two-in-one product that consists of one part greens+ and one part multi+ COMPLETE, both of which can also be purchased separately. With that, we believe that it is completely safe to consume greens+ alongside a multivitamin.
greens+ does have a caution to consult with a health care practitioner for use beyond 3 months. A couple of ingredients have prescribed maximum durations of use of 3 months – green tea, ginseng, gingko, licorice and grape seed – therefore all products with these ingredients would require these warnings by law. Even though greens+ has been used by thousands of people for decades, the need for this warning is still mandated by Health Canada as no study with a longer duration of use exists.

Absolutely! You can combine greens+ with protein to make a hearty snack. By combining greens+ with protein, you get the benefit of nourishing superfoods and blood-sugar balancing proteins. We recommend our fermented vegan proteins+ or fermented Greek yogurt proteins+, as both proteins are fermented and are highly absorbable and easy-to-digest!
All formulas with the original greens+ base have been tested to contain <20ppm of gluten, which is below the amount allowed by Health Canada in a gluten free product. However we cannot label original greens+ formulas gluten free because they contain wheat and barley grass. Although these grasses are not direct sources of gluten they can contain gluten due to possible grains in the grass. For those with high sensitivities or celiac disease we recommend our Vegan greens+ O.
If 1 serving of greens+ was taken daily (8.5g), then a 510g bottle would last you 60 days.
Refrigeration is recommended to provide optimal product freshness after opening. Refrigeration is a controlled environment, so we know the product is not sitting on a window ledge, on top of a radiator, or kept in other non-optimal storage situations. A cool temperature will also reduce oxidation and maintain probiotic stability. However, greens+ is ok to consume if it has not been refrigerated for a short period of time.

We state that greens+ must be taken with food because of the green tea that is contained in the formula. According to Health Canada, green tea extract must come with instructions to take with food. This is a new caution, as our products are often reviewed by the Natural Health Product Directorate. It’s worth pointing out that for many years before the NHPD (and likely for many years since), consumers have been safely enjoying their greens+ on an empty stomach in order to get the most from the standardized herbs, but we now must include this caution on the label by law.
greens+ contains trace amounts of milk as residual from the medium our probiotics are grown on. Although milk is present in very small amounts, if you are lactose intolerant, we would recommend working with your healthcare practitioner to determine if you can take this product safely. You may want to start with very small doses to see if you experience a negative response. For a completely dairy-free product, we recommend our Vegan greens+ O.
It is not recommended, as all greens+ formulas contain standardized herbs and botanical extracts. This caution is a Health Canada requirement and one you will find on the majority of products in our industry with compliant labels. The government takes a very cautious approach with this delicate population and requires this warning on almost all ingredients.
However, our fermented organic gut superfoods+ is made from fermented fruits, vegetables, culinary herbs and prebiotics, and is safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding.
greens+ has 4mcg of iodine per serving. The tolerable upper limit of iodine for adults is 800 mcg daily, in the context of a healthy diet, greens+ is well within margins of safety related to risk of iodine excess at only 0.5% of this daily limit.
greens+ has not been tested for caffeine content. The only source of caffeine in greens+ is the 15mg of green tea, which is not standardized to caffeine so it is hard to say how much caffeine would be in the finished product and this may vary from batch to batch. That being said, the caffeine amount would be minimal given the total green tea dose is only 15mg and below all Health Canada limits for any age.
That said, greens+ is research proven to increase energy as it contains a combination of adaptogenic herbs (supportive to adrenal health) that support and nourish your body. Some people may find it too stimulating to take in the evening and taking it in the morning will benefit you during the day.
It is up to you if you want to take all 12 capsules at once or spread them out throughout the day. Generally, people take the full dose of greens+ at once, but it is up to you and will still be effective either way. greens+ is research proven to increase energy, so you might want to take it earlier in the day to benefit from that

The ingredients that you will not be getting are the bee pollen, royal jelly, probiotics, soy sprouts, wheat grass and barley grass. The fermented ingredients in fermented whole body NUTRITION with greens+ help to naturally balance the gut. It also contains research proven ingredients for cognitive function and mood. NHPD (Health Canada) regulations state that we must now list skim milk as an ingredient on our award winning greens+ formula. While NO skim milk is added to greens+, it is an ingredient of an ingredient and therefore must be listed. The ingredient in question here is the probiotic culture, which initially is cultured on a dairy medium. While we do remove the probiotics from that medium before adding to our formula, we must still list skim milk as an ingredient as there remains a risk that trace amounts of dairy may still be present on the probiotics. greens+ remains unchanged from its early days and continues to be the only research-proven green formula on the market. While the trace amounts of dairy are negligible for most consumers it is important to note that those with severe dairy allergies should take caution.
With research proving our products effective, consumers can trust the quality and results of greens+ and all Genuine Health products. greens+ is composed mainly with plant based ingredients (with the exception of our probiotics, bee pollen and royal jelly). The ingredients are minimally processed and the processing that is used is in order to make extracts that provide research based benefits.
greens+ is a multi-ingredient product and suppliers for each ingredient are selected very carefully. The manufacturing process for each raw material is different and complicated with a variety of methods used including spray drying, rotary dehydrating, conveyor drying and drum drying. The ingredients and manufacturing of our products are all high quality and processed at low temperatures (almost no heat is used in packaging) in order to preserve the natural goodness of the original plant materials.
All our grasses in greens+ including alfalfa are organic whole leaf grasses; that it the leaf itself is dried and ground. Furthermore, they are 100% pure and do not have any excipients added. These characteristics of our grasses are very important to note, as the “juice” powders have very little fibre or nutrients compared to the whole leaf grass powders we use.
Our herbs are standardized extracts to ensure research proven dosages that provide results. Our herbal extracts are free of solvents.
