    Recommended Use: Source of essential amino acids involved in protein synthesis. Source of the amino acid lysine to help collagen formation.

    Adult Dosage: Add one scoop (10.76 g) per day to a hot or cold beverage of your choice and shake or stir until fully dissolved.

    Where are the cows raised? What do they eat?

    The cows are raised in the USA, where they are raised on pasture, where they eat their natural diet: grass.

    How long do I need to take collagen+ to see results?

    In order to see benefits, it’s recommended that collagen be consumed for 5 months for joint health benefits. However, some clinical studies have shown results within four weeks.

    Is collagen+ made from collagen peptides?

    Yes! Hydrolyzed collagen and collagen peptides are the same thing. If you see either on-pack, it means that the collagen is predigested so it’s better absorbed.

    Is collagen+ safe for children and pregnant or breastfeeding women?

    We recommend consulting with a healthcare practitioner before starting any new supplement when pregnant or breastfeeding.

    When is the best time to take collagen—with or without food?

    Whenever is most convenient! In the many research studies on collagen, participants were not asked to take collagen with or without foods – some studies suggested consumption first thing in the morning, others before bed.

    Is the Pineapple Berry lightly flavored collagen+ formulated differently from the unflavored?

    No! The only difference is the flavor. We wanted you to be able to enjoy collagen easily while on the go. We took our marine collagen+ and lightly flavored it with delicious Lemon Lime to make it easy to add to water. Since hydrating is essential to healthy skin, we wanted to make it easier to get both water and collagen together!

    I’ve seen some collagen products with added tryptophan. Is it necessary for prevention of depression?

    No. This information is based on an animal study from 2009, where researchers induced tryptophan depletion in rats. But it’s important to note that the rats were being fed beef collagen and only beef collagen, meaning they had no other protein source.

    So the question about collagen inducing tryptophan depletion in humans is a non-issue. True, collagen is low in tryptophan. But even with added tryptophan, collagen still isn’t a complete protein source and should not be used as a protein supplement.

    The only way someone would be depleted in tryptophan by taking collagen would be if they were avoiding high quality dietary proteins and/or high quality protein supplements.

    The multitude of collagen benefits for skin, joints, etc are not because collagen is a protein. The benefits are because collagen has unique peptides that can provide benefit through the entire body – including overall wellbeing.
